The history of Public Health was started in the following years of the First World War, conceiving the term "health education." Health Education and Publicity Section in the American Public Health Association was organized in 1922. This was a landmark in the history of the movement. However, we are still focusing on curative medicine rather than preventive healthcare services. No one wishes to treatment by getting ill if it is even free of cost health care services in the world's most sophisticated hospital. If the preventive and promotive healthcare service delivery system has become a failure, then the curative healthcare services would be a secondary option but not primary. Its objective is to advocate for preventive and promotive healthcare services rather than curative. With the changing concept of public health, we need to modify our health advocacy programs as well as the healthcare delivery system in the communities.
The main goal of the Public Health Advocacy is to reduce disease-related morbidity and mortality cases among the vulnerable and disadvantaged populations by improving quality and equality in the public health care delivery system. We are visioning such kind of healthcare service delivery system in rural community settings, where there is no need for hospitals, medicals, and clinics. Preventive and promotive health care services are all about behavior change through health education and bettering their living environment.
