NOURISH THE STREETS OF NEPAL CAMPAIGN

Nourish the streets of Nepal is a national campaign (2020) initiated by Public Health Advocacy Nepal (PHAN) to feed the street people (children, elderly people, and homeless persons) who have no own house and living on the street. According to the UNDP Human Development Report statistics, 25% of people in Nepal live under $1.25 a day. More than 250,000 people are homeless, and 2.8 million (an entire 10% of the Nepali population) live in slums. They are disproportionally affected due to the global pandemic and continuous lockdowns in Nepal.

The main objective behind the campaign is to feed hungry people living in the streets of Nepal. We will also provide them with some hand sanitary products and basic health care services. We have a target to help, about 10,000 homeless people, especially during the COVID-19 lockdowns in Nepal.

WOMEN’S HEALTH LITERACY FOR GENDER EQUALITY

Women’s health literacy program is an innovative skilled-based youth campaign started with the aim of increasing the health-seeking behavior of rural girls and young women to take care of their own sexual and reproductive health. Most of the adolescent girls and young women in rural communities are living with critical health conditions and even have no idea about what is happening in their bodies. WHL project helps in making aware of their health status and enable them to health-seeking behavior timely for treatment to prevent further complications.
